Why isn’t the allocation from the state enough?

In 2011, funding to all Michigan public schools saw a significant cut.  Honey Creek’s per pupil funding decreased by about $500 per student.  Though there have been small increases along the way, funding has not yet been restored to pre 2011 levels.  Honey Creek has worked to do well with less, hoping to minimize the impact to programs and materials, but we can’t keep offering high quality programing with such limited resources for much longer.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes.  The Honey Creek Community School Foundation has tax exempt 501c3 status through the IRS. 

What are the ways that I can contribute?

You can donate monetarily through the “donate” button at the top of the page, or contact us at donations@honeycreekfoundation.org.  If you have time or talents to share, contact us at info@honeycreekfoundation.org

How are the donated funds used?

One hundred percent (100%) of all donations will go directly to materials and initiatives that insure not only the ongoing survival of Honey Creek Community School, but its continued success.  All funding will be spent in a manner that is consistent with the strategic plan of Honey Creek Community School.

Who oversees the use of the donated funds?

All funding is transferred directly to the Honey Creek Community School general fund, and is used a the discretion of the the Honey Creek administration and board of directors.
